if i were part of the whiners, id write neca and sota and tell them i was staking a formal protest of their products until they supplied me with a message board.

thats the only way i can see to turn their mentality into something constructive...

When the new policy thing was posted, I had no real opinion. your site, your rules. That's fine, great, I got it.

Then on page 2, Jon said something to the effect of " he had a large number of complaints from lurkers about what was being posted", and in all honesty, that bugged the shit out of me. Not because it effected a message board, but the whole principle of " someone who can't be bothered to post, emails the moderator to bitch about what others are saying", rather than registering to speak up themselves.

I don't go around trying to get preachers to stop talking because I disagree with what they say, nor do I email movie production companies, to ask them to quit making Jim Carrey movies.

The part that came up about "lurkers being more important than posters" came from what bonedust said, combined with Jon bringing up the above mentioned lurkers emails.

Just an FYI, and maybe it will help to spread the word, if SOTA fans ever read their product packaging, SOTA endorses action-figure.com's message boards for discussion of their products, and SOTA people do peruse and post on those boards.

Point in fact, SOTA people read most of the major collector boards, including Spawn.com, and they have at least lurked here, too. Being as that is the case, maybe some of their "fans" should consider that there may be a reason they haven't established their own boards...like, not wanting the damned headache...?
